In order to combat the complete "Americanization" of our youth via a state curriculum and the regression of our country into the western equivalent of 20th century China, curriculum formation must be a power reserved for the regional and community levels so that schoolchildren can learn a truly global perspective while also having their education tailored to their specific needs.

All humans should criminal profile rather than racial profile and only pick out people that are behaving ill-mannered. Criminal profiling will then cause racism to slowly decline all over the world.

Racism can be diluted in, and possibly removed from American society by gradually diminishing the concept of racism through modification of the subject matter presented to American students.

In order to stop the trend of manipulating racism and sexism in American colleges for diversity's sake, we must institute a gender-blind and race-blind admissions process. Furthermore, we need to greatly increase financial aid packages for the disadvantaged as well as take the quality of a student's secondary school into consideration in order to rekindle the hope of opportunity for all, regardless of race, gender, or socioeconomic status.

The debate about gay marriage left long ago, the course of finding equality by granting alternative families the same rights as married couples, and has turned now to a simple war on nomenclature. To put an end to this extreme madness, congress should enact legislation granting the rights and privileges of the institution of marriage to any couple who wishes it, for life, using the term, “domestic partnership.” Arguments about and concerning the word, “marriage” should be left to the people and their religious establishments.

America's education system needs a revolution in how we teach to students; the change can be brought about by adopting lesson study, which helps teachers in the classroom by encouraging the sharing of ideas and peer review.

Our education system is failing our nations youth, robbing them of quality educations because of the inadequacies put in place by " No Child Left Behind." In order to combat these failures, we must continually asses and reform our education system based on the needs of students.

In order to cultivate an environment of tolerance, the United States of America should augment its current public school curriculum to include information about homosexuality in early grade levels in an effort to reduce ignorance, a strategy it already uses to combat racial inequality.

Offering a wider range of schools that would compete. would provide out students with a system that demands inprovement. Increased choice would also give parents the ability to become more involved in their child's life because there would be an array of options to pick from, and these options would e designed to improve the overall ability of students to compete in the future.

To properly accommodate disabled students as well as make AYP an accurate measure of school success, the alternate testing rate of NCLB needs to be raised to 3%, and provisions need to be added to allow disabled students to receive aid during testing.

The only way to guarantee that Americans take an active role in their government through things like voting and staying informed on political issues is to actually make people care about ones country through a nation-wide curriculum change in our schools that will put an emphasis on patriotism and love for ones country.

America must make provision for different educational methods, including private schools, home school, and family school, in order to shake off the apathy that has ensnared the students in today's society.

In order to equalize the quality of education between the different regions in our country, a country-wide high-level standard should be implemented; however, it would be up to the states, and the school districts, to determine how they will reach this country-wide standard set forth.

Statistics made my the National Science Foundation show that we might have reached the peak of the presence of females in science and engineering. Unfortunately, a decrease is forecasted due to the recent changes brought about by adjustments in standartized testing in middle schools and high schools and due to the instructional techniques that accompany them. We should let students explore their capabilities on their own, instead of giving women a “head start” – that most do not need in the first place. I propose a curricular reform that would create a balance between timed test-taking skills and more ample projects that require complex processes of thought. The assignments will better reflect the versatility that a future job may involve, and also give both genders the opportunity to understand the benefits of working with each other. It will also reward women and drive them to set goals equally ambitious to those of their male classmates.

By implementing this new and universal standard and the pass/fail grading system, students will receive an education that is analogous to the nation's status as an influential entity in the world, placing graduates on equal if not advantageous footing with other graduates from other competitive nations.

In 2002, the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB) was passed with the goal of standardizing curriculum and implementing standardized tests in an attempt to ensure that all students are receiving the same education and to try and bridge the education gap between poor and minority students and wealthier white students. However, since it was signed into law, the No Child Left Behind Act has done nothing to improve American education and in fact, in many ways it has been detrimental to our education system. There is a much more effective and simpler solution that if implemented could greatly benefit American education. Firstly, we must repeal the No Child Left Behind Act and grant teachers the freedom and flexibility to teach to the brightest and most gifted students who are being cheated under the current system. Secondly, we must increase funding for schools, particularly schools in low-income school districts. For any school to effectively teach students, teachers must be paid a fair salary and have access to adequate resources. If we can accomplish these two objectives, in time, American education will see marked improvement.

In order to combat inequality in the American school system, segregation should be reduced through a combination of forced busing and magnet programs.

The American Educational system can be improved by adopting different aspects of educational systems from other countries.
